Film poster audience feedback.
After making my two film poster i found it difficult to chose between the two, i also felt that they were not fully complete. therefore; i put this image on social networking sites and got 50 votes and comments in total.
The votes came to a close and the most popular poster was number 1, however i did get some critique and opinions. One was to remove the nose ring of the girl, another was to make her more pale, to remove from of the black in her eyes, and finally to increase to white writing at the bottom.

poster image mock up.
Before
After
This small shoot was to discover the best techniques to get my desired image for my film poster. in the studio, i set up a tall light which shined down onto the model. Also i had the flash level separate from the model lights which helped with the fading effect which the light creates on camera.
However i do think that this shot is at too much of an angle, because the pole from the light obstructed me from getting a direct shot. For the real shoot, i will correct this and move the pole.
storyboard
In this first section of the trailer, it will begin with the girls at the school location, starting with a low angle behind shot of the girls walking away. Then the girls cut to the mid position and then filmed walking in the same direction but a low angle from the front. A long panning shot will then show then walking down a lane and into the fields, with mid shots cutting in to show the girls talking and laughing.
In this section, there will be a selection of close ups then an extreme long show to establish the bridge settting. cuts from shot reverse shots to kathy of the computer.

horror film logo analysis.
Many horror film logos are red, with a black background. although i have only chosen 4 to examine, i have found that this is the general convention. Another very common convention with logo's from this genre is that the text is textured, often related to the film for example the cabin in the woods textured like wood, and the chopping mall like blood and liquid.
The more modern the film the more 3d the text is also.
website and photo shoot planning
Photo shoot plan for website:
-image of 3 girls
-image of bridge
-image of smoke
-images of all the actors(black and white)
-logo!
-images from behind the scenes
website and poster main influences
The main things that have influenced me from looking at current horror websites is the interactive games and links, particularly in the insidious doors and rooms which allow you to change and move things to find the ghouls.
Also, i think having a trailer on the main page is very effective becuase it starts playing automatically so the audience cant really click away. Twitter and social media links keep the websites modern and give a wider audience option.

Treatment.
The trailer will begin with 5 girls walking out of secondary school on
a cold winters afternoon. Titles will then appear stating – They say…- followed
by another clip of the girls laughing as they walk further down the lane, back
to the quote – that curiosity killed the cat-. The next shot is of one of the
girls notices a bridge and calling the other girls to it (close up to long shot
so the bridge and girl running can be seen), they then admire the bridge they
have found and note to each other that they can smoke here. (over the end of
this scene on of the girls voice is heard saying, I really don’t think we
should come hear, I’ve heard its haunted. And other girls telling her to stop
being ridiculous etc)
All soundtrack and music stops suddenly to a shot of one of the girls
coming into her back door where her mum is sitting. The mother smells her hair
and says ‘ where have you been its dark and you smell of smoke. Leading by a
close up of the girls face looking miserable and rolling her eyes.
The next scene is of the girls returning to the underneath of the
bridge laughing a smiling and they have bottles of wine. Two of the girls and
lying down talking the girl who said the bridge was haunted didn’t turn up
because she’s scared ( a cutaway shot is put in here of the girl at home on her
computer, on the screen there is a picture of the bridge and writing which is
visible to the audience, a small shot is also put into this bit of a fast panning around the old railway track before it was rotted away), and in the corner of the shot one of the girls is
stood looking down the tunnel into the darkness. She gets the other girls
attention, the soundtrack gets more upbeat, louder and scarier. After an
anxious few seconds, something jumps out and grabs the girl under the bush.
The next scene is in a small office, it is silent, aside from the
ticking of a metronome. Present is a
councilor and the girl who was doing the research, who looks very ill, tired
and angry and is in a white robe. The councilor asks what happened, and the
ticking of the metronome turns into really quick shots which include…
-The girls getting chased by nothing by the bridge
-One of the girls running over the bridge(two shots)
-girls being dragged through a field by nothing
-girl being dragged through a bush
- girl telling her mum and she tell her to not be ridiculous
-mum dying in a car crash
-girls being chased by a car driven by no one
(shots begging to get quicker and a girls voiceover says ‘ its killing them
because they don’t believe in her, the ghost wants us to believe’)
-
girl dying in the shower
-ghosts face coming up the train tunnel
-
- (voices
stating how she kills)
-
everything stops and cuts to a scene of a man sat on his farm reading a
paper, he stands up throws the paper down and announces ‘what a load of old
ghost story crap’ takes a step and falls to his death.
The next scene, the music returns back to where it was left, very
frightening and action based. Hannah is down the hill at the bridge and is
screaming for people to believe, police, parents and doctors surround her, and
she gets taken in a van to an asylum.
Silence, and goes back to the office with the councilor, the trailer
ends of the girls face molding into the ghosts and screaming.
