Doors.
This task was relatively easy, but also a bit rushed so not done superbly. it has helped me understand the importance of pace within shots, so that they do not become boring or look unprofessional. This task will help when if i were to make an action or horror movie, it is also a basic skill needed for the making of videos.

If i were to make a film trailer i would....
The different types of film trailers are not as hard to define as music videos, in fact the differences are quite huge and easily noticed. This is why choosing to create a film trailer would be harder because you cannot easily choose the best or easiest conventions from each genres, like you can a music video. For example when creating a music video I could create a performance style piece, but it could be a weird performance so it could link with the concept style. With film trailers, this is not as easy.
I think creating a horror film trailer would be the best in terms of point scoring. This genre is good to create a pace with the music. for example in this film trailer when the shots change with the music beats.
Conventions such as the 'slow zoom' and spooky voice over's will be really fun to create. The horror genre of film trailers is probably the only genre that sticks to the conventions, for example all of the horror trailers I have watched have scary music. Therefore, if I were to create a film trailer, the horror genre would be the most recognisable and I will have a lot of support from research because almost all the horror trailers share the same conventions, so I will always know if I am going along the right lines. Also, it allows me to throw in my own convention, and my horror trailer stick out from all the rest!

if i was to create a music video i would want to....
Choosing between the three styles of music videos, concept, performance and narrative, would be extremely difficult because after researching music videos I found that very few fit into just one category. For example; arctic monkeys brainstorm has been classed by many as a performance video. However, in my opinion I think it has a hint of concept style video in it.
many videos are hard to define and therefore I would create my video with a bit of all three styles in it.
The reason why I would do this is because it will attract almost all consumers, and the idea would be something along the lines of the band or singer performing the song in lots of different places. however there would be a narrative story about another character whom is nothing to do with the band/artist, and the artists would pop up in the background of the scenes in this storyline. This characters story would have something to do with the song lyrics and words but the storyline would be emphasised for audience attraction and entertainment. Therefore, the performance part of my video idea would be the actual artist/s singing or playing in different locations and settings, however the fact that they are randomly singing in the middle of a town for example creates a concept element to the video. The narrative element would be created from the spate character and this storyline, as noted, would not be completely relatable to the song and therefore adds another concept element to the music video.
The advantages to the style I chose would be that the audience is guaranteed to be drawn into the video what ever their taste. The concept would have to be quite strange to allow the video to become well known, and maybe the narrative should be less relatable to the song. The huge disadvantage to this technique is that all the different styles in one may be too much for the viewer and they may decide that it is too unusual, although my research shows that music videos are pretty hard to beat on the strange scale.
